Are streets just for cars?

In a previous post we explored research from leading Public Health experts, on the idea of motonormativity, or what Professor Ian Walker sums up as, car brain. This is the idea that our society has a cultural blindspot, when it comes to recognising the negative impact of our car dominated society.

We have become used to streets dominated by cars, but this isn’t how it has to be. It can be difficult to imagine what making our streets more people friendly might look and feel like. This video illustration from architect Oto Ozols, helps re imagine streets.
