On Friday 22nd September Cycling Dumfries will be holding their annual Big Bike Breakfast – part of World Car Free Day.
Details will follow on their website, but they’re challenging anyone who lives, works and studies in Dumfries to leave the car at home and take to two wheels instead for one day.
As an added incentive, if you do get on your bike and swing by the Council Headquarters on English Street between 7am and 9am you’ll get a free bacon roll or vegetarian equivalent, plus coffee or tea. As well you’ll have chance to chat, find out more about what Cycling Dumfries do, and perhaps even nobble a councillor or council official and let them know what you think would make cycling easier and safer.
All you have to do to earn your free breakfast is to show up on your bike (mounted on the top of your car doesn’t count – although they’re not going to question how far you’ve actually ridden it…)
